STILL WAITING FOR THE BEST OF ALL EXPERIENCES WITH GOD - THE REUNION
"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things' "
- Matthew 25:23 -In the meantime, He will fill our lives with small and delightful details - experiences that we will surely never forget. Among the many experiences that I have gone through with God, I chose this one, because it left a mark in my life.
Like all students who have finished their studies, I was looking for work, sending resumes and responding to job opportunities.
Some job interviews revealed inhuman exploitation, either in payment or in working; these I immediately rejected. Others, some even quite close to home, had acceptable conditions, but I had to discard them, because the working hours violated the sacred hours of the Sabbath. In these interviews, I heard something rather unpleasant: "How do you expect to find a job? You’re never going to get that. How absurd!" That angered and saddened me, but with extreme confidence, I replied: "My God, whom I serve, will put me in the right job."

After this and a few other not very nice experiences, the school year started and my hopes of finding a job in my area for that year were starting to fade. I was planning to get married the following year, so finding a source of income was important to my plans, even if not from a job in my area.
I had already begun to broaden my range of options when I received a call from my current director." Can you speak English?" I was honest and said, “I manage to speak.” I had an interview and took a cover letter in English, which was not appreciated, but God does not usually care about formalities, so I was asked to show how well I interacted with the children. This was the best way to evaluate the work of an educator, I have to admit.
The icing on the cake is that I am respected in my faith and I have already openly shared with those with whom I work. My director has already attended our church programmes and recently asked me if there were more programmes on health in the church, which she would love to watch.
How great is God! He is faithful to reward us with blessings when we are faithful to his command. May I always be faithful to Him...one day I really want to live THAT experience.

AGUARDANDO AINDA A MELHOR DE TODAS AS EXPERIÊNCIAS COM DEUS – O REENCONTRO

No entretanto, Ele vai-nos enchendo a vida de pequenos e deliciosos pormenores. Experiências que por certo nunca esquecermos. De entre as muitas que tenho vivido a Seu lado, escolhi esta porque me marcou bastante.Como todos os estudantes que terminam a sua carreira eu andava à procura de trabalho, enviando currículos e respondendo a entrevistas.
Algumas entrevistas revelavam uma exploração desumana quer no pagamento quer nas condições de trabalho que pediam e eram imediatamente excluídas. Noutras, algumas até bastante perto de casa, as condições eram aceitáveis mas por várias vezes dei uma resposta negativa porque o horário violava as horas sagradas do Sábado. Numa dessas entrevistas ouvi algo bastante desagradável: “Como é que pretende encontrar emprego? Assim nunca vai conseguir, que absurdo!” Ao que revoltada e triste mas extremamente confiante respondi: “O meu Deus, a quem eu sirvo, vai colocar-me no emprego certo”.

Depois desta e de algumas outras experiências não muito agradáveis, já o ano lectivo tinha começado, as minhas esperanças de encontrar emprego na minha área para esse ano foram-se dissipando. Ia casar no ano seguinte e encontrar algum sustento fazia parte dos planos, mesmo que não fosse na área.
Já eu tinha começado a alargar o meu leque de opções quando recebo o telefonema da minha actual directora. “Sabe falar Inglês?” Fui honesta e respondi “Sei desenrascar-me”. Fiz uma entrevista e levei uma carta de apresentação em Inglês que não foi muito apreciada mas Deus não se costuma importar com formalidades e por isso foi-me pedido que mostrasse o que valia na interacção com as crianças. Confesso ter sido a melhor forma de avaliação do trabalho de uma educadora a que alguma vez tinha sido submetida.
Mas a cereja em cima do bolo é que sou respeitada na minha fé e já a tenho partilhado abertamente com quem trabalho. A minha directora já esteve presente em programas da nossa igreja e recentemente pediu-me que se houvessem mais programas sobre saúde na igreja ela gostaria muito de assistir.
Como Deus é grande e é fiel para nos retribuir em bênçãos quando somos fiéis ao Seu mandato. Que eu possa sempre ser-Lhe fiel... um dia quero muito poder viver AQUELA experiência.
