THE POWER OF PRAYER!
"Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them."
- Mark 11:24 -My religious life had always been in the Catholic Church (I was christened when I was a child). However, after reaching adulthood, I no longer followed the rules that were imposed by my former church. I remember, however, that when I decided to baptise my son, several obstacles were presented to me, because I had stopped attending church.
In my faith I always had God as a friend and always thought that it would be enough to praise God to be saved on my walk to Heaven. I was completely blind.
Here begins my story.
It all started on May 18, 2011, at the Egas Moniz Hospital, Lisbon, when my wife approached me and whispered to me that almost all the Adventist family were praying for me, because the next day I would be operated (pituitary gland adenoma). Immediately, I felt a huge power invading my body and a serenity which even today I cannot describe.

Fortunately, everything went well, and the day after the operation, I decided that, in the future, I would accompany my wife, Gabriela Ribeiro, in her prayers in the Seventh Day Adventist church.
It was on that day that I realised I was completely blind, because I learned more in those few months than in my entire life. I was taught that we should always have our thoughts with God and remember Him not only when we need Him. I now attend the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Queluz.

A FORÇA DA ORAÇÃO!

- Marcos 11:24 -A minha vida religiosa foi sempre acompanhada pela igreja católica (fui baptizado quando era ainda uma criança). No entanto, após atingir a maioridade, não mais segui as normas que eram impostas pela igreja. Lembro, no entanto, que quando decidi baptizar o meu filho, foram-me criados vários obstáculos por ter deixado de frequentar a igreja.
Na minha fé, sempre tive Deus como amigo e sempre julguei que bastava adorá-lo para estar a salvo na minha caminhada para o céu. Estava completamente cego.
Aqui começa a minha história.
Tudo começou no dia 18 de Maio de 2011, no Hospital Egas Moniz, em Lisboa, quando a minha esposa se aproximou de mim e me segredou que quase toda a família Adventista estava em oração por mim, pois no dia seguinte iria ser operado a um adenoma na hipófise. De imediato senti uma força enorme a invadir o meu corpo, bem como uma serenidade que ainda hoje não consigo descrever.

Tudo correu bem, felizmente, e no dia seguinte à operação, decidi que no futuro iria acompanhar a minha esposa, Gabriela Ribeiro, nas suas orações na igreja Adventista.
Foi aí que me apercebi que estava completamente cego, pois aprendi mais em meses do que em toda a minha vida. Ensinaram-me que devemos estar sempre com o nosso pensamento com Deus e não nos lembrarmos d'Ele apenas quando precisamos. Agora frequento a igreja Adventista do Sétimo Dia de Queluz.
Eis a minha história - espero que ajude alguém.
