PSALM 37:36

“But when I looked again, they were gone! Though I searched for them, I could not find them!”

- Psalm 37:36 -


My oldest daughter (15 months old) had been vomiting for no apparent reason, at intervals ranging from 7 to 11 days, for more than 2 months. As you can imagine, although the doctors had performed all possible tests to find the cause, we also spent time on bended knee praying for her. We were then advised by her doctor to consult a paediatric gastroenterologist.

Again, we prayed, and then went to see the specialist. After looking at all the analysis and tests that had been done, examining the baby from top to bottom, and hearing what kind of food we had fed her, he calmly replied; “For now, I don't know what she has,” Here our hearts started beating a thousand beats a minute. What now???? “The important thing here is not to find out what she has, but to treat the symptoms! I suggest you administer this medicine” (which, from what I now understand, served to cause the stomach to work) “before every meal for 1 month. If it works, great, if not, we have to perform other tests.”

That night, opening my Bible randomly, God softly read this verse to me:
“But when I looked again, they were gone! Though I searched for them, I could not find them! (Psalms 37:36)

The medicine worked. We still don't know what had happened to our daughter's stomach. What really matters is that we learned to trust more in the care of our loving God!!!

He undoubtedly exists, knows us and loves us.
May we also be a blessing to others, reflecting God’s love in our lives.

SALMOS 37:36

“Mas passou e já não aparece; procurei-o, mas não se pôde encontrar.”

- Salmos 37:36 -



A minha filha mais velha de 15 meses andava a vomitar sem explicação aparente em intervalos que iam de 7 a 11 dias, há mais de 2 meses. Tal como podem imaginar, além de lhe terem sido feitos todos os exames de que os médicos se foram lembrando nesta fase inicial para despistar a causa, nós também passámos tempo de joelhos dobrados orando por ela.
Fomos então aconselhados pelo médico dela a consultarmos um gastroenterologista pediátrico.

Mais uma vez orámos e fomos. Depois de olhar para todas as análises e testes que já tínhamos feito, de examinar a bebé de alto a baixo e de nos ouvir falar sobre a alimentação dela, o médico responde serenamente:
-Para já, não sei o que é que ela tem...
(E aqui o nosso coração começou a bater a mil... e agora????)
...Mas o importante aqui não é descobrir o que é que ela tem, é tratá-la! Sugiro que façam este medicamento (que pelo que depois entendi, servia para obrigar o estômago a trabalhar) antes de todas as refeições durante 1 mês. Se funcionar, óptimo, se não, temos que fazer outro tipo de testes.

Nessa noite, ao abrir a minha bíblia ao calhas, Deus leu-me baixinho o seguinte versículo, "Mas passou e já não aparece; procurei-o, mas não se pôde encontrar." Salmos 37:36

O medicamento funcionou. Nós continuamos sem saber o que se passou com a barriguinha da nossa filhota. Mas o que verdadeiramente importa é que aprendemos a confiar ainda mais no cuidado do nosso amoroso Deus!!!

Ele existe, conhece-nos e ama-nos indiscritivelmente.
Sejamos nós também uma benção para os outros, reflectindo o amor de Deus nas nossas vidas.
