“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”

“Ponham a palavra de Deus em prática e não se contentem com ouvi-la, porque desse modo enganam-se a si mesmos. Aquele que se contenta com ouvir e não põe em prática a palavra é como alguém que se vai ver ao espelho. Vê a sua cara mas, mal se volta, esquece-se logo de como era. Pelo contrário, aquele que presta atenção à verdadeira lei, a da liberdade, e que continua a fazer caso dela, não é como um simples ouvinte que se esquece logo. É alguém que ouve e pratica. E assim é que ele encontrará a felicidade.”
